Ffurfwyd CHIPAC tua deg mlynedd yn ol i gyflwyno hwylio i blant lleol. Bydd yn cyfarfod bob prynhawn Gwener o 4.15 hyd 6.45 yh, Ebrill – Medi. Mae’n agored i blant rhwng naw a phymtheg oed, sydd yn gallu nofio hanner can medr.
Unwaith eto cafwyd tymor llwyddiannus a hwylio. Dechreuwyd gyda’r Toppers ar Ebrill 13eg ac efo’r Optimists ar y 5ed o Fai. Dim ond 14 o blant a ymunodd ac o ganlyniad fe gafodd pawb fwy o amser ar y dwr. Er mwyn cael yr un peth y tymor nesaf bydd rhif aoldau yn cael ei osod ar uchafrif o 18.
Yn ystod y tymor cafwyd 16 cyfarfod, dim ond colli dau neu dri drwy dywydd gwael.
Cyfrannodd aelod o’r clwb ddau dlws newydd i CHIPAC, un i’r Toppers a’r llall i’r Optimists. Enillwyd tlws y Toppers gan Aimee Jones gyda Iolo Bryn yn ennill tlws yr Optimists.
Yn ystod y gaeaf fe gymerodd pedair o aelodau CHIPAC ran mewn cwrs ymarfer rasio gyda Hyfforddwyr Cymdeithas Hwylio Cymru ac maent wedi codi safon ei hwylio yn sylweddol.
Yn
ychwanegol, am y tro cyntaf, trefnwyd hwylio yn
ystod y gaeaf i’r aelodau mwyaf profiadol ac fe brofodd hyn yn bur
llwyddiannus. Hoffwn ddiolch i bawb a fu yn rhoi cymorth i ni yn ystod
y tymor
a gobeithiaf ei gweld eto yn ystod y tymor nesaf.

Formed 10 years ago to provide sail training for local youngsters and children of members, CHIPAC meets on Friday afternoons April to September 4.15-6.45pm and earlier in school holidays. It is open to youngsters between 9 and 15 years of age able to swim at least 50 metres.
Once again CHIPAC had a successful sailing season. We started sailing with the Toppers on April 13th and with the Optimists on May 5th. Only 14 youngsters joined last year and consequently they all had more time on the water than in previous years. Because this worked so well, numbers will be restricted to 18 this summer.
During the season we had 16 sessions losing only two or three to bad weather.
A club member kindly donated two excellent trophies for CHIPAC use; one has become the Trophy won last year by Aimee Jones, the other the Optimist Trophy, won by Iolo Bryn.
During the winter, four of the girls attended race training sessions with Welsh Yachting Coaches and they made excellent progress.
Last winter for the first time we arranged sailing in the harbour for our most experienced members and this turned out to be quite popular.
I wish to thank the members who helped during last year and hope to
see them again this season.
