Ein Hymrwymiad i'r Clwb
- Ystyriwn fod y prosiect hwn yn estyniad o fusnes presennol y
Clwb.
- Cynhaliwyd pob trafodaeth am y prosiect hwn gyda lles gorau’r
Clwb a’r aelodau mewn cof a thrwy gofio ein cyfrifoldebau cymdeithasol.
- Bu’r trafodaethau hyn, a phob gweithred gan gynnwys cyfarfodydd

Background
A brief overview of the background was given
- Starting with the original funding of the Club as an Events Centre
- The attempts over the years to extend the facilities to match the
growth in the events business
- The desire for the Regatta of Wales to grow and the frustrations
associated with the limited infrastructure.
- Discussions with other interest groups politicians and the
realisation that we were pushing on opening doors.
- An exemplar visit, organised by North Wales Watersports, to Cork
during Cork Week 2006 gave us an opportunity to discuss our concept
with the Minister and we received a clear message to develop our
scheme.
- At this stage Cyngor Gwynedd were already allowing officers to
work on the project and an excellent working relationship was developed.
- We had the full support of the Management Committee to develop
the concept.
- It was necessary at that time to deal with the matter sensitively.
- We had meetings with lobby groups and other interested parties
and were able to secure general support for the concept and for the
scheme.
- From these meetings ideas flowed and we had valuable input from
WYA and Plas Menai.
- We had meetings with pontoon providers and were able to obtain
concept drawings of the proposed pontoon infrastructure.
- The scheme had by September 2006 developed into an exciting
project which was receiving an excellent reception at all levels.
- Council officers prepared a presentation for the Board
- The information was released to the press
- There was no adverse reaction
- This paved the way for the Council Board to support the scheme -
unanimously
Our Commitment to the Club
- We consider that this project is an extension of the existing
business of the Club.
- All discussions in respect of this project has been undertaken
with the best interest of the Club and members in mind whilst
remembering our social responsibilities.
- These discussions, all actions including countless meetings and
reports have been on a voluntary basis
- PSC is the driving force behind this scheme but working in
partnership with local government.
What is being proposed can be divided into the following two areas:-
– firstly the 3
business elements
– and then
– the 4
construction elements.
The Elements of the Facility
There are three fundamental business elements of the proposal:-
– Visitors Berths
– Events
– Education/Training
