Pwllheli Sailing Club's Motor Boat Section organised a flotilla cruise to Barmouth on 23rd, July, 2011.

This trip has become known as the 'Chippy Run'  with four boats taking part, and a total of eighteen crew.  We left Pwllheli SWM about 1130 with 'She's the One' leading the way. The other participating boats were 'Buzzin' crewed by Tracy and Mark, 'Nemo' and 'Cruiser'.

The weather was near perfect, with a following light northerly wind and thankfully, some sun!  The trip over St. Patrick's Causeway and to Barmouth was smooth, with spectacular views of the Rhinogydd,  and Cadair Idris as we arrived at Barmouth SWM some 40 minutes later.  Dave, the Harbourmaster at Barmouth had kindly arranged our berth right outside the Merioneth Yacht Club and we were free to enjoy the sights of the town, and that chippy.  We were warmly welcomed at Merioneth Yacht Club and treated to a local band practicing for the coming evening.

The trip back was more exciting with that northerly wind, which gave a slightly choppy sea particularly around the East Passage.  Mark and Tracy entertained us yet again with Buzzin rolling through She's the Ones' wake.  The day finished with a short sprint to Pwllheli SWM, and then to the marina, and club for a drink.
