Racing Meeting 2012 Record

Annwyl Pawb

Thanks to everyone for making the effort to attend the Racing meeting yesterday

I think the 2012 racing has great potential with a good mix of racing styles and socials.

The conclusions and action points from the meeting are as follows:

* The 2012 Racing Officers are:

o   Sailing Captain - Vicky Cox

o   Race Officer – Robin Evans

o   Sailing Secretary (social) - Sarah Pembelton

o   Sailing Secretary (admin) – Stephen Tudor (as Club Hon Sec.)

o   Communications Officer - Cric Peters

o   Rating Officer – Peter Dunlop

o   The Committee are all present as in the send to list above (and anyone who would like to contribute).

* The revised 2012 Racing Programme is attached and I hope that I have correctly recorded your ideas and thoughts but please let me know if there are further amendments / corrections required.

* I will amend the SI’s in accordance with the suggestions received from Mike Butterworth and this will be circulated again for your final approval.

* We have agreed that races will be scored using IRC and that all boats must hold a valid IRC certificate. If a competitor does not have a valid IRC certificate we will also score the race using PYS and Peter Dunlop will organise this.

* Sarah has agreed to work on the Social Programme (racing) in association with our Chef Mel - so if you have any ideas please contact Sarah (cc above).

* I will update the rest of the race pack material (race courses and marks etc)

* I will ask Richard to organise the marks so that they are ready in time.

* I will put a crew availability section on the web site

* The WYA training offer will be posted on the web site to encourage new competitors

* Cric Peters has agreed to be our communications officer and will send out e-mails and messages to stimulate interest especially in the run up to racing weekends.

* John Collins will work on a programme of Friday night racing to include Double Hander Racing – these dates can then be added to the race programme.

* ISORA have asked for another Pwllheli day race in addition to the 14th July – so I will look at this again.

* When all the information is collated and approved I will send out a general invitation e-mail

I hope that I have covered, in this message, all of the points discussed during our meeting. This e-mail will be posted on the racing web site as a record of the meeting.

Good Sailing – Hwyl
