Stephen,
Fedra i ddim gweld y gallaf gynnig gwellhad i'r cynlluniau er fy mod yn pryderu y gall y tirlunio amharu at ddefnydd llawn o'r man parcio cychod bach. Hoffwn gael sicrhau man wedi ei neilltuo i gychod Chipac ,fydd wedi ei gau i ffwrdd oddiwrth gychod unrhyw fudiad arall, ac y bydd yr offer yn saff rhag cael ei ddefnyddio gan eraill heb ein caniatad ni.
Credaf hefyd fod gallu cau y rhan fwyaf o'r adeilad oddiwrth y cyhoedd yn bwysig iawn.
cofion,
Gwyndaf.
{Gwyndaf is pleased with the general concept but is concerned that the landscaping mounds will limit the space available in particular for the youth dinghies. Confirmation is required that the club dinghies will and be secure and will not be used by others without consent. Security of parts of the building should be considered carefully}
Ymateb CHPSC reply.
Annwyl Gwyndaf
Mae'r pwyllgor rheoli wedi gwneud datganiad i'r penseiri ynglŷn â'r tirlunio ac rydym yn disgwyl cael yr ymateb yn fuan a fyddwn yn rhannu'r rhain efo'r aelodaeth. Rydym yn gweithio ar syniadau ynglŷn â compownd i'r cychod bach. Fydd eiddo CHIPAC yn cael ei parchu a dim ond yn cael ei defnyddio gan eraill efo caniatâd CHIPAC.
{The Management Committee has already made representations about the landscaping mounds and we are now awaiting the architects' response. We are working on the idea of a secure compound within the events compound. CHIPACS equipment will, of course, be respected and will only be available for others to use with consent.}

Dear Sir
I have watched with great interest the tremendous strides the club have taken in developing the strategy and the design and build for this fantastic new facility.
As a previous commodore (1982) and on committees for at least 15 years before that, the historic perspective of the club has always been one of shortage of funds. I am certain the new academy with its programme of events will ensure the prosperity of the club for many years.
The bed rock of the club has been a band of loyal and enthusiastic members both on the racing and cruising side of the club. It would be a retrograde step if the enthusiasm and support, and indeed the facilities for members were consumed in a larger and all encompassing facility, which did not fully recognise the benefit and attraction of 'membership'. The sense of belonging, the ability to fly the PSC Burgee with pride as I do wherever my boat may be in the world! That sense of belonging, camaraderie, has and always should be the essence of the club. I hope the new arrangements will ensure that this can continue and members are made to feel important with benefits and facilities for them, rather than being pitched into the mellay of vast numbers of visitors - all of whom I know will always receive a hugh welcome, but the bed rock membership must always be respected.
I wish you all every success with this scheme, and I trust it goes from strength to strength. I very much look forward to coming to visit the new facilities.
My very best wishes to all, and a very Happy New Year
Best wishes
Robert Jordan

Dear Robert
Many thanks for your comments and support.
The importance of a ‘Club’ feel and atmosphere has been recognised as a key element for the facility. We all agree that an ‘institutional’ look and feel would not work and would not be appropriate despite the complex use of the facility. This aspect was identified at a very early stage and features strongly in the concept proposals and all subsequent discussions. We are now working on the detail design and the club feel will be designed into the building with our memorabilia cups and trophies etc on display. We would hope that members will continue with the warm welcome that is always given to our guests and the feeling of ownership will prevail.
We have worked hard in promoting the CHPSC brand and this is now recognised worldwide. This profile will be maintained and built upon...
Dear Stephen
Thank you for taking the trouble to reply to me. Yes I have no problem with my comments being made public. I am delighted to hear your answer, and that this element has been at the heart of the scheme
Good luck and best wishes
Robert

It would be a good idea for the plans to have the dimensions on (in order for members to understand the full scale of the building).
Regards
CHPSC reply. The next set of drawings will be available shortly and we will ensure that these have dimensions.

Steve, please ensure the dinghy storage option for the members is maintained. I know my own boat is not used but things will move on. Also propose to change 'social membership to something that allows use of facility for all activities, i.e. canoes, etc. That way there will be more members and incomes.
CHPSC reply. There wil be a dinghy storage area for members and for CHIPAC boats together with secure covered storage to replace the numerous containers that are now being used. The structure of membership will be reviewed to ensure that it is relevant for the new facility. It is also intended that there will be a public bar and cafe in the building in addition to the club room.

Hi Stephen, Im sorry I will be unable to attend the members evening on Tuesday and probably wont be able to view the latest plans at short notice. Is it possible to have these placed on the Club website for all to view and comment on, there must be others who cannot attend. The other idea I would like you to consider is the erection of a webcam on the clubhouse which could show the development taking place over time and even help us members in the sticks some idea of the weather. Perhaps the Partnership/developers could fund this.
Cheers.
PSC REPLY:-
Thanks for the message – I understand that you would like to see the exhibition. The meeting held on Tuesday afternoon is arranged by the council and is a public meeting/consultation. This will be the first time the public have seen the design and you have seen most of this stuff already. We thought we should provide our members with a preview of the material (which was printed yesterday by the architects!) In view of these mid week meetings we have arranged another meeting for Saturday morning so that all members have a chance to see the exhibition material. There will also be a report on the meetings on the web site and a message will be circulated by e-mail with a link to that article in due course. There will be an opportunity for feedback direct to the architects or through the club representatives. The idea of a time lapse camera for the build is being considered as shown in this
You Tube video
I like the idea of a permanent web cam – this has been on our wish list for a few years.
More soon
Kind regards
Stephen
