After a week of tough racing in Weymouth, the news arrived that the girls had become British Champions in the 420 class and with it gained selection for the GBR team for the ISAF Youth Worlds, to be held in Portugal in June.

The week started in the best possible way with a bullet in race 1. The competition then heated up to create 2 days of tight racing.

The girls managed to hold onto the yellow leaders bibs from day one and on Wednesday were the most consistent boat out of the fleet of 44, posting three 2nd place finishes. This opened a 24 point lead over their closest rivals, which they defended through Thursdays racing.

After an anxious wait on Friday racing was eventually abandoned at 2 o clock due to lack of wind.

The girls ended up as first girls and fourth overall, marginally behind the top New Zealand male team.
