Plas Heli hosts the IOCA Optimist National Championships in August 2024 - The Opening Ceremony is on Saturday 3rd August.
Amendment No 1
The first warning signal for weekend 3 is changed from 0900 to 0830.
Coastal races are run as part of the Easter Series, Spring Series and Summer Series plus one in mid August.
Results for each of the 5 races will be compiled into a stand alone Coastal Series.
The 5 races are:
Sunday 31st March First Warning Signal 10:00 (HW 12:20)
Saturday 13th April First Warning Signal 09:45 (HW 11:57)
Saturday 27th April First Warning Signal

The first warning signal for Weekend 2 coastal race is amended from 0900 to 0830.
The Spring Series consists of racing over three weekends as follows:
Weekend 1
Saturday 13th April - One long bay race - First Warning Signal 09:45 (HW 11:57)
Sunday 14th April - Two round the cans races - First Warning Signal 11:30 (HW 12:48)
Weekend 2
Saturday 27th April - One long bay race - First Warning

I am very sad to inform everyone that Jonathan Abrahams (JKA) passed away today at Ysbyty Gwynedd. Jonathan was an accomplished sail maker, sailor and campaigned on many boats including his great success on the 1720, and helped enormously with racing in the bay, and helping all sailors with his sound advice, regarding sails and setup. Jonathan will be missed by all and we send our condolences to the family. Rest in peace

The Merlin Rocket Open Meeting is back in Plas Heli - 4th to 6th May 2024
The event is hosted at Plas Heli - the Welsh National Sailing Academy and Event Centre.
The Merlin Rocket was designed in 1946 by Jack Holt and by now there are over 3,700 boats built!
This is now considered to be the ultimate hiking dinghy for two people - refined over 70 years of development and an extremely modern class providing excellent racing throughout the UK.
